In spring 2018, The New Data Project hired Civis Analytics to test six different advertising messages to see which is most effective at increasing support for Democratic House candidates. The test found that drawing contrast between Democrats and Republicans on the tax bill, and lifting up Democrats as the party that will put people ahead of corporations and Wall Street, is consistently effective across competitive districts and demographics. Other messages had more limited effect while some caused backlash against Democratic candidates. Download the full report below.
